Add Meta Description to your Blogpost

Good news for bloggers,you can now add meta description on your individual blog post to enhance your SEO.
Meta description helps a lot because it describes the content of your blog post and increases the chance of your post being clicked.Today,I am going to share with you on how you can add meta description to your your post or page.

HOW TO ADD META DESCRIPTION TO HOME PAGE

CLICK- Settings > Search preferences > Meta tags > Description and click the Edit link

Click YES Button to enable search description
Insert meta description for your Home page. This meta description will appear on your homepage and other multi-post pages.

Click Save Changes button.

HOW TO ADD META DESCRIPTION ON YOUR INDIVIDUAL POST

A meta description for individual  post or a static page can be added  through Blogger’s post editor.

1. Click Posts and select a post to edit.
2. Click Search Description option under Post settings. (This option appears only after you enabled search description)
3. Then insert the meta description for the post and click Done.

For older posts, you have to go back to edit each post and manually add in the description.

But before you do that, it’s better to confirm if this feature works on your blog template.

You can confirm whether the meat description  is added to your blog post and home page through Online Meta tag checker.

If the meta description didn’t appear,you can now go and edit your template manually through these steps.

Click- Template > Edit HTML > ADD this code right on top of <b:skin><![CDATA[
